2023 Players Championship predictions, odds, Fantasy golf power rankings: PGA

The Florida Swing continues with the signature event on the PGA Tour, with the 2023 Players Championship set to tee off Thursday in Ponte Vedra Beach. The tour’s top golfers will face another challenge at TPC Sawgrass, and with 43 of the world’s top golfers in the field, setting winning Players Championship Fantasy golf lineups will take some effort. Jon Rahm will try to bounce back from last week’s misstep, while Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler look to improve on top-five finishes at Bay Hill.

Despite a T-49 finish at Bay Hill, Rahm is the 17-2 co-favorite along with McIlroy in the latest Players Championship odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and Scheffler (10-1) is right behind. So, which of the Big Three would be the best choice for your Players Championship fantasy picks? Or should you avoid them altogether and take a player like 2021 Players winner Justin Thomas (19-1) or 2021 Fed Cup champion Patrick Cantlay (19-1)?

Now, Holliman has ranked his top players for the 2023 Players Championship, and we can tell you the expert is strongly backing Rahm. Holliman has learned his lesson about doubting the Spaniard, and his first-round 65 at Bay Hill shows he hasn’t slipped much. “He has been elite in every category,” Holliman says, “and he will bounce back and be right there again Sunday.”     

On the other hand, Holliman is fading Xander Schauffele (25-1), with the Olympic gold medalist not even meriting a spot in his top 10. The California native has finished in the top 10 once in his past four events and is 2 under over his past two (T-33 and T-39). He has missed three straight cuts at Sawgrass.
