Fury To Ngannou: You Want To Earn Big Boy Money, Come See The ‘Gypsy King’

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has expressed new interest in facing former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou.

Last year, Ngannou – the most recent fighter to hold the UFC’s heavyweight title – was angling for a boxing match with Fury.

The dangerous puncher was ringside last April at Wembley Stadium in London, to watch Fury score a knockout victory over Dillian Whyte.

After the fight, Fury and Ngannou were side by side, discussing the possibility of a cross-sport boxing match.

However, UFC President Dana White threw water at the idea – openly rejecting the scenario of Fury-Ngannou.

Last week, it was revealed that Ngannou and UFC had officially parted ways after being unable to reach a new contractual agreement.

The UFC stripped Ngannou of his title and released him from any contractual obligations.

Fury is currently negotiating an undisputed showdown with WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

A Fury vs. Usyk showdown is likely to land on a date in April, somewhere in the Middle East or London.

Somewhere along the way, Fury is open to the idea of facing Ngannou – and he has some interesting stipulations.

“Francis Ngannou, I know you’re out contract with the UFC,” said Fury to Seconds Out. “You want to earn some big boy money, come see the ‘Gypsy King’ and let’s do a big, big fight for the baddest M.F. on the planet.

“Let’s kick it up spicy in a cage, four-ounce gloves, under Queensbury, and let’s have a badass referee like “Iron” Mike Tyson.”

Ngannou is hoping to return on a date in July, potentially in a boxing match.
