Volleyball stars come together to ‘Serve As One’

MANILA, Philippines – The country’s top volleyball stars from different leagues will unite for a cause on June 5 and 6, as they aim to raise funds for support staff who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organized by the Volleyball Community Gives Back PH, the volleyball players will hold a variety show at 7:30 p.m. of said dates, which will be aired live on the ABS-CBN Sports Facebook page and the ABS-CBN Sports YouTube channel.

The “Serve As One” program will benefit the referees, line judges, quick moppers, and table officials who rely on the country’s various volleyball leagues for employment but have been severely impacted by the cancellation of tournaments.

The UAAP was forced to cancel its second semester sports, including the volleyball tournaments, due to the pandemic. The 2020 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix was cancelled as well, while there is no certainty as to when the Premier Volleyball League can be staged.

The organization is accepting donations via the following accounts:

Prior to the “Serve As One” variety show, Volleyball Community Gives Back held raffles to raise funds for personal protective equipment for frontliners and health care workers.
