Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Wants to Fight Mike Tyson Under Bizarre Rules

BKFC, Holyfield, and now Andrei Arlovski? It seems like everybody wants a piece of Mike Tyson. Here’s what Arlovski had to offer.

Mike Tyson has been a hot topic of discussion for the past few weeks. The 53-year-old retired boxer stated that he wants to return to boxing and compete in exhibition matches. The goal is not to earn money for himself but to help people in need through charities.

While some praised Tyson for his decision, others didn’t want any part of it. Nevertheless, let’s look at the parties that have shown interest in Tyson. BKFC offered a whopping $20 million to Tyson and Australia pitched an offer worth $3 million.

Besides that, former foe Evander Holyfield suggested the idea of having a trilogy fight. Even Shannon Briggs wants to fight Tyson.

Andrei Arlovski puts forth his stipulations for a match with Mike Tyson

Arlovski is a former heavyweight champion in the UFC. At 41 years of age, he is still competing. His last match was on May 13 which he won via a unanimous decision. Unlike Holyfield and Briggs, Arlovski believes that he is not ready to take on Tyson in a boxing match. The Belarusian wants to fight Tyson under special rules.

“Tyson is a legend,” Arlovski told “His poster hung in my room. I’m not ready for a full fight by the rules of boxing against him. If one round is boxing and one round is MMA, then it is possible.”

Years ago, Arlovski trained with a world-class boxing trainer, Freddie Roach. Under Roach’s guidance at Wild Card Boxing Club, Arlovski significantly improved his boxing.

Furthermore, he also revealed that there were plans to fight Wladimir Klitschko in the past. But a knockout loss against Fedor Emelianenko in 2009 spoiled the plans.

“There was an idea to hold ten fights and then fight with Klitschko,” Arlovski said. “Then I had health problems. We paused the idea, but if there is any specific proposal, I will consider it.”
